It’s the end of the month which means a few things (month-end procedures, bills, being another month closer to your next birthday – eek – etc etc) but one super-exciting thing in amongst all of this: payday! With this weekend also coinciding with a Bank Holiday, that just means there’s even more free time to spend all our hard-earned moolah and I have already spied my first must-have. That would, of course, be the See by Chloé grey double frill knitted jumper you er, see (geddit?) before you. It’s just on the right side of girlish and cutesy, it’s snuggly, warm and it’s grey – which basically means it gets a surefire pass into my wardrobe anyway.

Well, they make it really easy for us to like them by stocking all the brands we adore – from Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen‘s Elizabeth & James line to handbag heroine Rebecca Minkoff and Gwen Stefani‘s LAMB and Harajuku Lovers collections – we just can’t get enough! So when we heard they are offering a further 20% discount until August 31st (yep, Bank Holiday Monday – which means we can take our time with our online window shopping, yesssss), we did a little dance by our desk and decided it was a wonderful treat indeed. All you have to do to make this dream a reality is input the code instyle09 at checkout – and voila – the shoes/bag/bikini will be all yours.
Although we instantly turn to jewellery when we want to give a gift that is special and personal, it is, rather surprisingly, quite a difficult thing to choose. You want to get it just right – it not only should be a perfect representation of the person you are giving it to but should also reflect the giver (you) in some small way too! Phew. No wonder our other halves try to avoid this whole process if they can…
Making it that much easier is Precious Monkey Jewellery, a bespoke jewellery service that also has an adorable range of pre-made pieces for you to choose from. From the sweet and girly to the edgy and fashionable, there is something for every lucky lady (or gent, as the case may be – there are also some pretty unique cufflinks to sift through). Reasonably priced and made from high quality materials (sterling silver and/or solid gold), bookmarking Precious Monkey Jewellery for all your future trinket purchases – whether as gifts for friends, family… or yourself! – is certainly a good idea. You can shop their collection here.
Amidst yet another disappointing UK summer (sorry to remind you), Tess Daly has managed to defy the miserable looking grey skies and perk us all right up in this bright pink concoction, which she wore to today’s announcement of the new Strictly Come Dancing lineup. We realise it takes a brave soul to throw on an attention-grabbing hue such as this, but the chance to brighten up your day (and the day of anyone else you might encounter) is an opportunity too good to pass up… come on – we dare you!
Whether you’re feeling flush, or payday is a day which looks like it will never arrive, you can find yourself a shocking pink frock on your budget – Marios Schwab does an electric number (available from Net-a-Porter.com, £1,735), while good old Dotty P has a £40 dress ready and waiting. Pair with a studded belt (like this one, again from Dorothy Perkins – £20) and some fashionable open-toe booties (L.A.M.B’s ones from RevolveClothing are hot, hot, hot) for a feisty yet playful look.

Kate Moss on yet another ‘Vogue’ cover – her 28th one for the British edition and the September issue of all issues (read: biggest issue of the year). We get it – Ms Moss sells magazines. But is it also a case of our dearly beloved mag hags getting lazy? Are they scared in this current economic climate that if they try something new, we won’t buy it? Questions, questions… And I guess the biggest question of all: are you sick of seeing Kate’s face staring back at you from the newstand just yet or has the gal still got it?
Right now in London, it’s too hot for boots but it’s too rainy for flat sandals… I know, I know – what a dilemma! After the mistake of wearing ballet flats yesterday, only to have them very quickly fill with water so I had to slosh on home when the rain came bucketing down, you could say I’ve learnt my lesson. Wear heels. And even better, wear strappy ankle booties. They’ll keep you up above those puddles but will still let your feet breathe when the sun, inevitably, shows it’s face.
I can’t tell you how much I’m loving these strappy wedges from Givenchy… but if I tell you I’m considering living in the cubby hole under my desk at work this month instead of paying my rent, would that give you some indication?
Sienna Miller’s time in the fashion ‘it’ girl sun is far from over if her recent appearances on the GI Joe promo trail are anything to go by. The actress-with-hair-I-would-give-my-left-arm-for has hired herself a stylist for the first time in her life, and while I can’t imagine she’d let someone have complete control over what she is wearing (c’mon, the girl has a very good eye all on her own), we’re definitely seeing something of a new Sienna. Can you imagine the cowboy boot-wearing Sienna of old donning this grown-up Derek Lam get-up?
Yep, she’s grown up a lot since the “Jude years” and with that, has come a knack for being able to pull off glamorous looks such as this, while maintaining that laidback vibe we’ve come to know and love about her. Perfect for a daytime telly appearance – or, for the rest of us, a chic office look or dinner outfit – we’ve shown you how you can recreate the same silhouette and metallic match-ups with a mix of high street and designer.
